Monique Chaplin, LICSW
Room to breathe, located in Arlington Massachusetts, is owned by Monique Chaplin. She has been helping people organize their lives for as long as she can remember—but it was not until 2000 that she realized that the skills and enthusiasm she had for this kind of work could be translated into an actual job! How fun!
Monique’s experience as a licensed social worker and psychotherapist contribute to her ability to hear her clients and understand their struggles from their unique points of view. She thrives on developing client-specific systems that work for each person, based on their individual learning styles and aesthetics. Her previous work as a school-based counselor makes her particularly qualified to help students develop effective organizing and study skills.
Monique believes that organizing is a means to an end, not an end in itself. It’s not about perfection—it’s about creating systems that are simple and easy to maintain and about having things function “well-enough”. People want to feel comfortable and “at-home” in their spaces. The goal is not to make your home look like a magazine ad.
Working with Monique is a collaborative experience, with the client as the driving force. Monique helps you clearly articulate your vision, and works with you to create the systems that work best for you to make that vision a reality.
